Coolmeds Classic Medication Travel Case (2-8°C) VAT Relief

Product Code: 4273ANV

The CoolMeds Classic isothermal case has been specially designed to safely transport temperature-sensitive medication between 2-8°C for 12 to 18hrs*

The CoolMeds Classic is fitted with an integrated digital thermometer, which gives you peace of mind in being able to monitor the medication's temperature without having to open the case. The thermometer batteries (2 x AG13 batteries) are also included.

There are 4 elasticated loops for the pens and a netted pouch to ensure that your medication is kept in the desired position in the case (suitable for pens, vials and syringes). As a guide, the internal space accommodates 4 pens that are up to 18 cm long and 1.8 cm in diameter. The case is made from high-quality material with multiple layers of insulation for maximum protection.

It comes with 2 CoolMeds cold packs which offer a long cooling effect and durability during frequent use. Also included are 2 CoolMeds Buffer Boards which absorb excessive cold and protect medication from freezing or overcooling. You can purchase extra cool packs here.

It is highly recommended you do at least one trial run before your journey to make sure you are familiar with using the case especially because conditioning the cold packs is the most important step. The CoolMeds Classic comes with a detailed product info leaflet which must be read before using the case. It can be helpful to take it with you to show airport security to prevent the case from being opened unnecessarily. You can view the leaflet here

What's Included:

  • 1 Classic isothermal case
  • 2 cold packs
  • 2 buffer boards
  • 1 digital thermometer
  • 1 product info leaflet

Dimensions:

  • CoolMeds Classic: 230 x 175 x 100 mm (L x W x H)
  • Cold pack: 160 x 105 x 25 mm (L x W x H)
  • Buffer board: 160 x 100 x 2.5 mm (L x W x H)
  • Weight: 900 g

*This is affected by factors such as the ambient temperature; ambient humidity; how many times the case is opened, how long the case is left open, and so on. DISCLAIMER: The user of the bag solely accepts the responsibility of maintaining his/her medicine at the required temperature.

Please read the instructions that are included.

  • Avoid opening the bag as the cold air will escape and reduce the longevity of the frozen cold packs.
  • Travel with a letter from your doctor that explains the need to transport temperature sensitive medicine and ideally, also mentions the name of the CoolMeds bag. Take the receipt and/or this product info leaflet to reassure airport security as the bag can create interest from security when going through the X-ray security process.
  • Because the cold packs are frozen solid, they’re not a liquid and are therefore not considered a potential security issue.
  • It can be helpful if the airline is happy to place the bag in the fridge with the medicine safely inside as it effectively lowers the ambient temperature; however, the bag generally lasts the journey without this being necessary.
  • NB: Remember that because the bag is insulated, it will prevent cold air from getting INTO the bag so if the thermometer goes over 7°C, ask the airline to place the medicine in the fridge WITHOUT the bag. You will not be able to lower the thermometer reading by placing the bag in the fridge. It will simply slow down the defrosting time slightly.

NB: Do not store your bag in the hold; it must be part of your hand luggage.
Keep the bag out of direct sunlight and away from heat sources.
