It stores the most recent 800 test results and shows the 7, 14, 30, 90 day averages.
The clear smartCOLOUR™ target range indicator has three colours to show where the blood glucose level is within a personal target range
- Above Target Range (Amber)

- Below Target Range (Red)
Second-Chance® sampling allows 30 seconds to apply more blood to the same strip while still inserted which may help avoid re-lancing.
The CONTOUR®PLUS BLUE meter uses Contour® PLUS test strips, which gives highly accurate results, helping to support more informed decisions.
Second-Chance™ sampling to allow users to apply more blood to the strip for up to 30 seconds. It also has 24 months shelf life even once the strip pot is opened.
The CONTOUR®PLUS BLUE meter gives immediate feedback and also seamlessly connects with the Contour® Diabetes app for better understanding and management of your blood glucose results.

Please note, there is no control solution included in the kit. It is not required under any regulations to test Ascensia meters with Control Solution prior to testing, as they are already calibrated and therefore compliant with the ISO Standards in force. However, if you would like a bottle of control solution, please call the Ascensia helpline on 0345 600 6030 (Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm), who will be happy to assist.
Are you eligible for VAT relief?
HMRC states that if you are “chronically sick or disabled” then you can purchase goods without VAT when purchased for your personal or domestic use. A parent, spouse or guardian is able to purchase on behalf of a “chronically sick or disabled” person and obtain the VAT relief.
HMRC defines “chronically sick or disabled” as physical or mental impairment which has a long-term and substantial adverse effect upon his/her ability to carry out everyday activities or a condition which the medical profession treats as a chronic sickness – this includes diabetes which will be the main reason for your purchase on our shop.
HMRC defines “personal or domestic use” as goods used for your own private use, rather than for business purposes. It cannot be used by anyone else or “chronically sick or disabled” in general.
Which products are eligible for the relief?
The declaration is only attached to those products with are eligible for the relief. It is only those products which have been designed solely for use by disabled people are eligible for the VAT relief. It is the designer or manufacturer who determines this not Diabetes UK.
Further information on the VAT relief can be found on the HMRC website – VAT Notice 701/7: VAT reliefs for disabled or older people. Please do not make the declaration if you are unsure – it is an offence to make a false declaration.
