New 4Ts poster - symptoms of type 1 (download only)

Type 1 diabetes is serious, and if left undiagnosed it can be life threatening.  That's why we need more people to know the symptoms of type 1, known as the 4Ts, to avoid a medical emergency at diagnosis and to save lives.

  • Toilet – going for a wee more often, especially at night.
  • Thirsty – constant thirst and not being able to quench it.
  • Tired – being unusually tired and having no energy.
  • Thinner – losing weight without trying to or looking thinner than usual.

Type 1 diabetes can affect anyone, at any age. As well as the main 4Ts poster, we also have a version highlighting the symptoms in children.

Download your posters today and help us make sure that more people know about the 4Ts and to ask their GP for an immediate finger-prick blood glucose test if they spot any of the symptoms.

Share the signs. Save a life.

You can find out more about the 4Ts at www.diabetes.org.uk/the4Ts
